The relationship of trust and bond of success between the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela and the Portuguese company Teixeira Duarte, contributed to President Maduro to extend the invitation to the executors of the modernization project of the Port of La Guaira to help operate and manage the new Specialized Terminal of Containers.
The commitment signed on January 17, 2017 allows the operation and administration of the new Specialized Container Terminal (TEC) for a period of 20 years.
The Terminal began operating three months after the alliance was signed, inaugurating with the arrival of the first vessel on April 13, 2017.
At the inauguration of the new Specialized Container Terminal on April 28, 2017, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, citizen Nicolás Maduro Moros, dictated the following strategies to achieve the development and full potential of the Port of La Guaira.
1.Position the Specialized Container Terminal as the great center of management of Venezuelan exports.
2.Consolidate the Specific Terminal of Containers as a major Intra-Caribbean trade center. With advantageous services in front of its competitors.
3. Establish the Specialized Container Terminal as a School Port to modernize all the Ports of the country.
